About the Partnership
Capstone Agency is collaborating with Alabama Power on a partnership where students gain real world experience on a corporate social responsibility campaign.
In the third year of the partnership, the Igniting Innovation Grant Competition was created to give University of Alabama student organizations a chance to showcase how innovation powers and impacts them and the community.
Over the past years, Capstone Agency's partnership with Alabama Power led to the implementation of charging stations on campus. These stations, located in well-populated areas like the Ferguson Center, allow Alabama Power to directly positively impact students.
This partnership also led to volunteer initiatives where UA students and Alabama Power worked together for the betterment of the community. Students participated in Renew Our Rivers, which helped clean up areas of the Black Warrior River. Students and Alabama Power employees also collected cans to participate in Beat Auburn Beat Hunger, which is a can drive benefitting the West Alabama Food Bank.
Capstone Agency created the Power of People campaign to highlight two Alabama Power employees actively giving back in the community. The campaign consisted of videos about powering Bryant-Denny stadium and how employees volunteer at the RISE School for children with disabilities. Capstone Agency also founded the Humans of UA social media campaign, which features individuals whose involvement on campus and efforts to give back helps power the community. Through Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, the WhatPowersUA social media account highlights various events and individuals doing great things on campus and in the community.
